Going palm oil free
Is it possible to completely avoid palm oil?

So what’s so bad about palm oil?

I haven’t fully explained why I’m against the use of (in particular) palm oil.

In simple terms – the earth needs rainforests, humans need rainforests and orangutans are one of the many non-human species that need rainforests. Palm oil is produced on cleared rainforest land. Increased non-sustainable production leads to decreased orangutan habitat. And more specifically it often leads to brutal orangutan deaths and orphanings.

This article appeared in the British press today. The problem is very real, and although the people involved “on the ground” may be many thousands of miles away from where we read this blog and take action, those responsible, in this particular case the British, are in the opulent West.

If you are following this blog, I hope the above serves as a very obvious reason why more action needs to be taken, and why more knowledge needs to be spread.

  1. Very glad to see this blog Neil. Hope it spreads faster than Nutella on hot toast! Will certainly do what I can to amplify the message.

  2. Unquestionably believe that which you said.

Your favorite reason appeared to be on the internet
the easiest thing to be aware of. I say to
you, I definitely get annoyed while people consider worries
that they plainly don’t know about. You managed
to hit the nail upon the top and also defined out the
whole thing without having side-effects , people could take a signal.
Will probably be back to get more. Thanks
